Quick and Concise Measure of the Five Domains of Personality

New normative update!

The NEO-FFI-3™ (Normative Update) is a shorter, 60-item version of the NEO-PI-3™ (Normative Update) that measures the five main dimensions of personality: Agreeableness (A), Conscientiousness (C), Neuroticism (N), Extraversion (E), and Openness to Experience (O) without assessing the individual facets, allowing for a quick assessment of personality to use with your clients.

Features & benefits

  • An updated normative sample was collected in 2024 and is representative of the current U.S. Census.
  • Administration is reduced to three print forms: a Self-Report Form, an Informant Report Form–Male, and Informant Report Form–Female, as well as the digital i-Admin, Score Report, and Interpretive Report.
  • Scoring and report generation are exclusively through PARiConnect, while you have the choice of print or digital administration.
  • The updated manual includes useful supplemental materials, including a blank profile form that allows professionals to plot T scores from multiple raters.
  • The NEO Style Graphs are provided in the Interpretive Report and provide more extensive feedback that considers configurations of factors. The T score for the vertical and horizontal axis, which are based on domain, are located at the top of each graph. The point of their intersection is indicated with an X. This point identifies the style of the respondent, and the description associated with that quadrant of the graph characterizes their style.
  • The NEO Feedback Summary provides direct feedback to the client about their responses across the five broad factors of personality. Available only on PARiConnect.

FAQs

Looking for older (legacy) versions of the NEO Inventories?

Contact PAR Customer Support to get information on the NEO PI-R, NEO-4, and legacy versions of the NEO-PI-3 and NEO-FFI-3.

Where can I find the content from the NEO FFI-3 legacy components?

The table below displays where the information contained in the NEO-FFI-3 legacy components can be found in the NEO-FFI-3 (Normative Update) components.

What do I do with my NEO FFI-3 legacy inventory?

If you have NEO FFI-3 legacy digital inventory (i-Admins, Score Reports, Interpretive Reports) you can continue to use it until your inventory is depleted, without needing to immediately transition to the normative update. When your legacy inventory runs out, purchase the normative update version that meets your needs.

The process of assigning and administering assessments is the same for the legacy version and normative update version. You will follow the same steps on PARiConnect to assign assessments, administer the NEO, and generate reports.

If you have print inventory for the legacy version of the NEO FFI-3 you can continue to use them until your inventory runs out, however, we encourage you to score via PARiConnect to benefit from the updated normative sample.

What is the technical information for the NEO-FFI-3 (Normative Update)?
