BRIEF®

Evaluate the impairment of executive function in children, adolescents, and adults

Behavior Rating Inventory of Executive Function®

Assess executive function behaviors in the school, home, and everyday environments with the BRIEF, a questionnaire that measures executive function in children, adolescents, and adults. Teacher, self-report, parent, and informant forms are available. The BRIEF is useful when working with clients who have learning disabilities and attention disorders, traumatic brain injuries, lead exposure, pervasive developmental disorders, depression, dementias, multiple sclerosis, and other developmental, neurological, psychiatric, and medical conditions.

Measure executive function in children and adolescents ages 5–18 years with the parent and teacher forms and ages 11–18 years with the self-report form. With adults clients ages 18–90 years, administer the informant and self-report forms.

The Gold-Standard Rating Form for Executive Function Testing

The BRIEF gives you the information you need to help children, adolescents, and adults with executive dysfunction. It digs deeper than similar measures and pinpoints exactly where and why clients struggle, so therapists, schools, and other treatment providers can make informed and impactful intervention and accommodation recommendations.
