Quickly Screen Students for Dyscalculia or MLD in an RTI Model

Derived from the FAM, a comprehensive assessment of mathematics designed to examine the underlying neurodevelopmental process that support the acquisition of proficient math skills, the FAM Screening Form allows you to quickly screen for dyscalculia and math learning disabilities and to identify the needs of at-risk students.

Features and benefits

  • Designed to identify children at risk for dyscalculia or a math learning disability (MLD) within an RTI delivery system model.
  • Measures the underlying cognitive and quantitative processes that underscore the development of mathematical achievement in a manner that best informs decisions about appropriate interventions.
  • Comprises three subtests—one from the Procedural Index (Sequences [SEQ]), one from the Verbal Index (Linguistic Math Concepts [LMC]), and one from the Semantic Index (Number Comparison [NCO]).  These subtests were selected as the best representation of each domain based on clinical research and statistical analysis.
  • Yields a single index score that indicates risk for dyscalculia or an MLD.
  • Intended to assist users in deciding whether the risk of dyscalculia or an MLD is high enough to warrant further assessment.
  • Takes just 30 minutes to administer and score; scoring is also available 24/7 via PARiConnect, our online assessment platform.
  • In-Person e-Stimulus Books and Kits are convenient, more hygienic alternatives to paper administration that allow you to administer the FAM Screening Form face-to-face via tablet. Please download our white paper prior to administering.
