APS™

Evaluate the presence and severity of symptoms of psychological disorders and distress in adolescents

Adolescent Psychopathology Scale™

The APS is a multidimensional measure of psychopathology and personality characteristics designed for use with adolescents ages 12 to 19 years. Inspired by the lack of adequate measures of adolescent psychopathology consistent with current psychiatric nosology, a primary goal in the development of the APS was to create a comprehensive assessment of the presence and severity of psychopathology in adolescents. Toward this goal, the APS measures 25 separate disorders, thus making it one of the most comprehensive measures available for adolescents.

Additional Test Features

The APS is a broad-bandwidth measure of adolescent psychopathology that also assesses for psychological problems that could interfere with the individual’s psychological adaptation and personal competence. The unique response format of APS aligns closely with diagnostic criteria, allowing for accurate evaluation of symptoms over different time periods. Need a briefer assessment of psychopathology? The APS is also available in short form. About one-third the length of the standard APS, the short form is reliable and suitable for shorter time allowances or to determine if a student needs further testing.
