Feifer Assessment of Writing™

Rely on the FAW as your go-to for finding out WHY your pre-K through college student is struggling with writing.  Get to the heart of issues impacting cognitive, motoric, and linguistic processes. The full assessment can be customized as you choose which subtests to administer.  The screening form can be administered in under 20 minutes.

The FAW is designed to measure three subtypes of written language disorders or dysgraphia: graphomotor, dyslexic, and executive.  It differs from traditional academic achievement assessments in that it is a diagnostic measure with specific neurocognitive processes built directly into the test.

About Author Steven G. Feifer, DEd

Steven G. Feifer, DEd, NCSP, ABSNP, an internationally renowned speaker and author in the field of learning disabilities, has authored eight books on learning and emotional disorders in children. He has decades of experience as a school psychologist and is dually certified in school neuropsychology. Dr. Feifer was voted the Maryland School Psychologist of the Year in 2008 and the 2009 National School Psychologist of the Year. He was the recipient of the 2018 Outstanding Contribution to the Education and Training of Psychologists award by the Maryland Psychological Association. Dr. Feifer serves as a consultant to a variety of school districts and is a popular presenter at state and national conferences. He has authored three tests on diagnosing learning disabilities in children (FAR/FAW/FAM) and one on trauma (FACT), all of which are published by PAR.
