A Quick and Reliable Intelligence Screener
The RIST-2 NU is a screening measure of general intelligence ideal for determining the need for a more comprehensive assessment of intelligence and useful in clinical and school practice settings when a global estimate of intelligence will suffice. Now with an updated normative sample based on 2023 U.S. Census data, the RIST-2 NU applies to a larger, more representative population.
Features and benefits
- An updated normative sample of 2,793 cases based on 2023 U.S. Census data that consists of new concurrent measures (WISC-V, WAIS-5) and updated test-retest cases.
- Composed of Guess What (GWH) and Odd-Item Out (OIO) subtests and designed to produce a single composite score that provides a valid estimate of g and an indicator of risk for intellectual impairment.

Administration and scoring
The RIST-2 NU can be administered remotely using a minimally modified digital version.
- An equivalency study (Wright, 2018) found the RIAS-2 digital and paper formats to be equivalent for all subtests except Speeded Processing, which is therefore excluded.
- Administer using the Remote e-Stimulus Book (shared via videoconferencing) and Record Forms.
